Is there anything cosier than wrapping presents whilst a listening to the Christmas playlist that you’ve carefully curated especially for your festive traditions? I like to think that I’m fairly organized with life in general; I’ll make a list and I’ll check it twice. But there’s something about December that makes time go so quickly, I can barely keep up. They key for me this year is to keep is nice and simple.
I really enjoy going Christmas shopping, I fully embrace all of the festive vibes. I like wizzing around the high street in search of the perfect Christmas presents for my friends and family. My favourite part of the process is wrapping presents and writing cards. Some people might consider it a chore but I honestly find it so therapeutic! I put a lot of effort into making the gifts look really pretty, I’m all about the aesthetically-pleasing presentation. I’d make a great elf!
In previous years, I’ve been known to go a bit over the top – it’s difficult to know when to stop! Think tinsel, confetti and a copious amount of glitter, the whole shebang! However, this year, I’ve gone for subtle, understated white and silver gift wrap tied with polka dot ribbon.
Using a white gift wrap means you can dress it up with what ever embellishments you like. This can be a classic holly, festive fir, an aromatic dried slice of orange, cinnamon sticks, or miniature silver bells. Adding these decorations at the end makes all the difference; it looks like you’ve made a huge effort even though in reality, it takes less than 30 seconds to add the finishing touch. The rule of thumb is if it’s looks ‘Instagram-worthy’, then I know I’ve done a good enough job.
I honestly love nothing more than to wear my best PJ’s, switch the twinkling fairy lights on, burn my favourite Avon Winter candle, make myself a hot chocolate (filled to the brim with marshmallows), play some Christmas tunes on (or maybe a Christmas film – my favourite is Home Alone!), and wrap presents. I can literally do this for days on end!
What traditions do you have at Christmas?
